Day 1 - Water (WARNING: this may be my last post)

This is day 1 of my blog, not day 1 of my diet or day 1 of my exercise routine. I am improving and what I have learnt on my journey is that to be healthy you have to change your lifestyle. It may sound hard but it's really about making healthier choices. Packing fruits, cottage cheese and/or yoghurt for lunch at work stops me from having the bagels next door. Lettuce and tomatoes in the fridge encourage me to make myself a salad instead of snacking on those frozen pizzas I used to have. But what I know will really help me is water. Let me explain further. Yesterday I went on the scales and I weighed 66.5, a lot more than my usual 65(+). Like most people would, I panicked. I was trying to lose weight not gain more. So I drank water. Lots of water. And what I find unusual is that the more water I drink, the thirstier I get. Maybe because I have to use the toilet so often when I do. (sorry folks) But I can guarantee water is the best way to detox. When does someone really lose weight? Not when they're on the treadmill. Not when they're using weights. Not when they're exercising. Exercise burns calories, but you won't lose weight unless you've been on the toilet at some point during the day (or sat in a sauna for hours). And what happens when you have more water than you need? The kidney flushes it out of your system with the wastes and urea it needs to get rid of. Not only is your body healthier because of it you also lose weight in the form of unwanted wastes. Could there be a better way of getting rid of everything you don't want and absolutely do not need?! Back to my story, yesterday I drank water and ate like I normally would: three square meals and snacks. But when I checked my weight this morning, I had lost an entire kilo! But wait it gets better. After all the fruits and a double meal that I've had so far today (two square meals to satisfy my appetite, one of them vegetables), I weighed myself again, and guess what? It hasn't changed. And this is after I've eaten twice as much as I normally would have! (my scales are working fine)

Thank you everyone reading this, please feel free to leave comments. Good luck on your journeys whatever they may be.
